Jars of Hearts.

Reveal. So here it is, time to reveal the present that I was working on with the mason jars. When I saw the milk crate from Typo, I actually didn't know who to give it to. I just thought it would be perfect. And then I saw the mason jars, that's when I had an idea of giving this present to Vivian, since she loves candles, well technically scented ones, I thought of buying candles and sticking them in the jar. If you're wondering how I thought of all these ideas for the presents, well first thing is just do a little research on craft ideas. But don't set your ideas on the things you find online because you might not be able to find what you need in the shops. Something I do almost every time I buy something, I spend ages walking around in circles, very slowly, just looking at everything that is in store. What this does is that it makes me ask myself, 'what can I do with this?' and if I'm certain I can use it for the present or any other present then I will get it. Walking in circles in the stores is also a bonus because once I start on the present and need more ideas, I just think back on what I saw in the shops and then get everything the next time I go back. Haha sometimes I get really indecisive so that's another reason why I spend ageeees in the shop. People must be like, 'woow she still here'. Anyways, here are the photos of the present with explanations.

So the present is a milk crate but instead of using milk bottles I used three mason jars, containing three different things. In the other three slots, I just bought things that she would like. In the photos below, I wrote my message on one side using white paint pen. I don't think it was a good idea cause the pen was kind of thick so it was hard to read my writing. Because the crate was made out of some sort of wood, the paint was soaking and spreading into it so I had to go over the writing a couple of times. On the other side, I did something similar to what I did with Jackie's present. I printed out some polaroid photos and hung them.

So here's the first jar. If you saw the post on the sneek preview of the mason jar, you would've seen this jar. So inside this jar are rocks I bought from Target. I got the frame from this antique store (I can't remember the name).

In this jar was meant to be a scented candle I bought from Myers but it didn't fit inside the jar so I just placed it inside one of the other slots. So I went to Daiso, I bought this can that had small blue rocks and a jelly candle.

Just like my previous presents, I bought a letter block and placed inside one of the slots.

So this was the candle I bought from Myers. It smells soooo good :) Haha I had a great time smelling all these candles, but the smell of cherry blossom was by far the best! And I had a hard time finding places that sell scented candles or maybe I just didn't know where to buy them since the candle store closed down.

I must say this jar would have to be my least favourite. I should've done more to it but I got lazy and then I didn't have time. I was going to buy jewellery and put it in but it was too late. I really like the lights though. I actually got the light idea online but when I saw the idea I wasn't sure if I was able to do it because I didn't actually know where to buy led lights. Luckily, I went into The Reject shop and found led lights for like about $2. But then I found out that it was too big to fit inside the lid so I had to pull it apart with the help of my cousins haha. The blue and clear stones are from Daiso, covered in glitter.

TURN OFF THE LIGHTS! :)

The last thing to go into the final slot are jewelleries I bought from Lovisa. I actually didn't know what to put into the last slot until I went shopping the day before I had to give Vivian her present. When I bought this, I didn't how to present it and just thought when I get home I'll think of something. And so I just used the tissue paper that was used to wrap the jewellery and stuff it in and place the jewellery inside.

I'll be posting about Vivian's eighteenth soon... :)
